Well, well, well, what have we gotten ourselves into? Apparently one of our new fish, that Braden got less than a week ago for his birthday, is a girl fish, not a boy. How do I know this??? Tom had 9 babies this morning... Yeh, yeh, laugh it up, its only Murphy's Law that of all the fish in the tank we would get the one scooped up that was pregnant and ready to birth. Joy. This morning Braden asked me to help him feed the fish. When i went in his room I saw something floating and it caught my eye. Then I saw another little something and I knew I was in trouble. As we got ready to head out the door to preschool the count was up to 6. So, after having a major flashback to my youth, (when we had several fish tanks and always had some fish breeding) I realized I would need to go to the pet store and get another tank. Yes, I could have left the babies in the other tank and odds are the would have been eaten by the other fish, but how do I then explain that to my 5 yr old? So in less than week we went from no pets, to 1 fish tank with 9 fish( including 2 that have already gone down the toilet) to 2 tanks with a total of 18 fish --- anyone who wants some Black Molly fish let me know... These suckers are tiny by the way, about the same size as the gravel they are swimming with. Braden wants to name them, but how would I keep them all straight???

Ok this is funny because we thought we would get Gav fish last year for his b-day. Well what a non fun thing for mom. It becomse mom job, he wants to 'play' with the fish. Then my grandparents got all into it and bought us turtles and frogs. And when they died Gavin was sooo sad.
LOL I totally have to laugh!! That is pretty funny, but not the part about having to buy another tank and everything. We got Stratton 3 fish for his 3rd bday and learned our lesson quickly that it is NOT a fun pet for the parents and they die so quickly! And man, fishtanks are not cheap. Wow, good luck with this one. Hopefully yours will be less stinky than mine were, yuck!
Yes I laughed out loud. That is funny Caryn. I'm sorry that you are now the mommy of so many little living things, but luckily Braden is such a big boy and great helper! Too funny!
I think that this is so cool! It is just like you to be the one that has fish babies. At least you can handle it! We will come visit the new additions...
Congrats on your new arrivals! That's hilarious :o)
That is funny. Cute fish but I am sorry that I can't help you get rid of them. I am not the best pet owner around.
I bet Braden is in fish heaven! You have some crazy luck!
You are a lucky girl!
Too funny! I would help, but we are sort of anti-pet peopele. Sorry!
Too funny! I'd love to take some, but I forget if they require more maintenance than goldfish. If they do, count me out! 2 dogs, Yazee &(my biggest kid) Mubeen, I've got my hands full! ;) Hey, maybe you could pawn them off on mom!? By-the-way, aren't you soo excited, I actually left a comment. Mark this down, it may not happen again! ;) Love ya, Rhon
