Turning 34...

It wasn't so bad.  Rusty got me tickets to see So You Think You Can Dance when they come in November.
Roses from Rusty.
Rusty had Kneaders French toast for me when I woke up.
Gifts from friends.
The best part was it was Bunco and my sweet friend Kim planned the whole night around me.  The food was my fav, Costa Vida style salads, Red Velvet cupcakes. There were balloons and streamers and all the prizes were "my favorite things".  I even got to pick first, cause heck, it was my birthday!

Some of the prizes were a sleep kit (which I picked), chevron bracelets (which Kim picked and gave to me), gift card to Thrive, a Silhouette tool, and gift cards to my fav spots, a frame, Princess Bride DVD and a couple others. Plus the group got me a gift certificate to get a pedi!

Ugly Sweater Bunco...

Once a year I get to have 12 fun ladies in my house for Bunco.  I look forward to it for the entire year.  I search for gifts all year long. I really love it.  The last few years we have done an Ugly Sweater Bunco night.  I usually make 'trophies' for the winner, an ornament, but this year I decided to do three-- an Ugly, Uglier and Ugliest Sweater award.  These ladies did not disappoint.
Kelcie was a last minute sub and she even showed in an ugly sweater.
Since I didn't put too much effort into my outfit, I decided to ugly up my hair.  Reindeer style.
The prizes.  No, our Elf on a Shelf Boris was not a prize, but he did enjoy watching everyone pick.
I know people play Bunco a variety of ways, but for my group we throw a pig when you roll a Travelers, so people yell "Pig" or "Travelers" a lot through the year. So, at Christmas time I make them throw Santa. It gets funny as people yell "Pig-Santa! I mean Santa!"
Paralee and Kim had some of the best handcrafted entries. Yes, those are hot pads on Kim's and we were laughing that Parie's looked like a deer baby bijorn.
Jill and Kelcie.  Somehow I didn't get pictures of every sweater.
 The Girls
Danielle, Kim, Jamie, Addi, Kelcie, Jenn, Jill, Sherry, Me, Paralee, Rhonda and Sara.  Now, you'll notice that my sister was not in an ugly sweater, but we forgave her since her Elf costume was outstanding.
The Winners
Ugliest- Paralee, Ugly- Kim, Uglier- Sara

Until next year ladies, can't wait to see what you come up with next!

My Bunco Group Christmas Party...

I have been playing in a constantly evolving Bunco group for the last eight years. I host every December and we have done a bunch of different things at it. We did an ornament exchange a few years and those were fun but getting 12 new ornaments every year is a bit much so last year we started a new tradition. So here are the pictures from the 2nd Annual Bunco Ugly Sweater/Sweater Vest & Turtle Neck/ Holiday Accessory Party.
I made these two for the prize pool. My Dad cut the wood for me, and I used my Silhouette to do the vinyl.  I actually made one more that says SNOW, but I had to keep it, it was too cute!
Here were the rest of the gifts.
All out on display. You can see Berk pointing to the super soft blanket. He was very happy that I actually ended up with it.  He has since taken ownership of it and I will never see it again...
Here are our two subs. My sis Chelli ( who plays with us a lot, like a perma-sub) and Jess, who used to be in the group and we love when she gets to come sub. They both came early to help me with the kids.
Jess got Boston to sleep, and he stayed asleep for hours. I told her she had to come over every night.
All the girls playing. We usually throw a stuffed pig and yell "Travelers" for one part of the game, but we threw a little Santa and had to yell "Santa", it was pretty funny.
Kim brought her baby Klohe to bunco. She's pretty cute. Kim and I actually had our babies on the same day (she delivered HOURS before me, lucky) but we labored across the hall from each other and were texting all night and day.  It's a fun memory.
Rhonda's sweater was definitely in the top of the contenders, her turtleneck and antlers put it over the top.
Me and Jess and my homemade ugly Tshirt.  It was fun to make, and I will be archiving it for future Christmas parties.
Dano, Jenn and Scarlett were looking pretty fine that night. Wowza.
The Rasmussen sisters in their holiday finest. Man, we rock. For the record my turtle neck has scotty dogs and Rhonda's had poinsettias.  Mine was was uglier.
Our 2011 Bunco group (minus Sherry and Parie).  Sara (between me and Rho) was the winner. Everytime I looked at her sweater I giggled.  Minnie Mouse, blinking lights in the sleeves and jingle bells on the band.  It was truly amazing.   I even made ornaments for the winner of this year and last.  Love you ladies!

My Bunco Group...

A number of years ago I was asked to start playing in a Bunco group.  And here I am 8 years and a bunch of player swaps later, and we still play.  I heard a joke once that said Bunco was Greek and meant "to throw dice and gossip" I thought it was pretty funny, and true.

A little back story, if you haven't ever played before, there are rules that vary by group but we play with twelve players. Four per table in teams of two.  You roll three dice and in the end the person with the most buncos wins. Ok, that was a really CRAPPY explanation, but basically it's a girls night out each month. And a lot of fun.
The Group 2010
(L-R back) Megan Allen, Parie Johnson, Jolie Johnson, Jill & Me
Sara Dewitt, Steph Farnsworth, Robyn Jambor, Sherry Macnab, Addi Robison
Jenn Jensen and Rhonda (we missed you Dano!)
Me & Megan, we have been playing in Bunco for 8 years together with Rhonda.
Our winner Addi! Her sweater not only lit up and sand but it was vintage and it blew the rest of the competition out of the water!
Adding up. I swear this is the only quiet time all night...
Post eating and pre rolling photo!
Addi and Jill (who pulled of a nice sweater entry even tho she was a last minute sub!)
Some of the sweater vest entries (Jenn, Steph and Robyn)
Rho and I rockin our puff paint and glitter sweatshirts!
The Red Velvet cupcakes I made from scratch!
The 12 gifts... My fav was the block that said "Be naughty, save Santa the trip!"

It's always a lot of work to host, but we only do it once a year, and I always have Christmas which I love. Thanks to the many many many girls I have met and played with in the past! We're always looking for subs!

My Bunco Girls...

I have the best group of Bunco Girls ever. I know you may think you do, but my group really is the best. Some of us having been playing together for going on 6 years! We are a modge podge of people who really shouldn't know each other but do through someone or another and love each other anyway. We have sisters, friends, co workers, and friends of friends all playing together every month and having a ball. For lack of a better word I am the Bunco Mom for our group. I say Mom the other girls say Nazi but whatever.  The highlight of the year for me is each December when I get to host at my house. I actually started shopping for the gifts last year and having been busy organizing the second annual ornament exchange for us too.  I love love love these girls and the memories we make each month. I love that it is my escape from the world and we can talk about random things and laugh till we cry. Or just cry because your very own sister cursed the dice you were throwing- while you were in the middle or a rocking turn- AND you were partners! But usually it is laughing till we cry.

Rhonda, Megan, Meghan, Jessica W, Jessica C, Rachel, Lauren, Kristie, Jolie, Parie, Sherry & Jenn --
Thanks for being the best out there and for putting up with my craziness!
Some of our ornaments from the exchange.

The prizes. I ended up with the tall sparkly snowman- for most wins. Which is a good thing since he already had a home all picked out on my snowmen table.
As I play catch up, posts will appear in chronological order so, scroll down because there is sure to be a new post below...
