Today was a great day for me, for the dumbest reason. I had to take a quick trip to Target to get a nightlight for Braden and thought I would buy sometime for Berk to behave by getting him a snack at the food center. While I was filling my cup with ice, I SAW IT---It's back!
Sierra Mist Cranberry Splash!
So, to explain my elation let me give you a little back story. Every work function for Rusty's job we always seem to order the same thing from the bar- Sprite with cranberry juice. For 1- cause it's yummy and 2- cause we don't drink alcohol. Each and every time we have gone to him former boss' home for her Christmas party, her hubby sees us coming, puts down the wine and gets our 'cocktail' made. So, imagine my surprise when shorty after Halloween last year I saw a red bottle of Sierra Mist -- and upon further inspection saw that it was mixed with cranberry, so I thought it would be funny to buy it and bring it home to show Rusty. Little did I know that I would become very addicted to its sweet taste. So things are going great with me and SMCS- until one day near New Year's, the shelf at the store is empty, no sign, no room, no nothing. Agh! In desperation I searched high and low, QT, Target, Walmart, CVS it was gone. After doing a little googling I realized it was purely a seasonal flavor. So my mission began, I called friends in other states, and had everyone on the hunt for it (as well as Peppermint Ice Cream for my friend). No luck on either count. Come mid February of this year I happened upon a lone 12 pack at a Safeway I had never shopped before and I promise you, I felt better than if I had won the lottery. It was rumored I even chased down a guy driving a Pepsi truck to see if he had any, but I refuse to confirm or deny that story.
So, I am having a good day. Despite Berkley having a burst ear drum, running a fever, getting 3 shots, and cutting to teeth and the lack of sleep as a result. Despite the huge list of things I have o do this week. Despite the mountain of laundry I am tackling...I am one happy lady today. I have four 2 liter bottles chilling in my fridge to thank for my happiness. So, now you are all thinking I am a little CrAzY- and I am -- but only about really stupid things... Oh, and also on my list to stock up on, Mtn Dew Game Fuel, yumm-o.
Rusty has a stack (no lie) of 12 packs in his office. The only bummer to this story is that we just started another Beck Family Diet competition (of which Rusty has been undefeated) and drinking soda costs you a point- and with a Wii on the line, I am willing to stock my fridge and wait until the competition lapses to truly enjoy my wonderful find. So try it, it is great for holiday parties or a change from other decaffeinated sodas out there, you won't be disappointed, and if you are, bring the rest to me- I am sure one of us will drink it!

Caryn-
I feel your pain. We are avid Henry Weinhardt rootbeer drinkers. Since moving to texas it is kind of weird because they actually bottle the product here in Fort Worth but NO WHERE in Texas is licensed to Sell it? What the? So anytime we leave the state we stock up.
And Baylie and I went to urgent care sunday because she was up SCREAMING! And that is so not like her and she had a fever. We found out that she had a bulge on her ear drum from the infection. Never heard of it but we have not slept in a couple night either. Sorry I feel you
If you want to win the wii you need to buy The Abs Diet. I lost 7 lbs in 3 weeks. I don't know if thats good or not but It was super easy. & I got to eat 6 meals a day (3meals/3snacks). Its more like changing the way you eat that a diet. It has recipes for you. & they are good. You should try it. I love it! But, you will have to give up the pop. It's been 5 weeks 3 days since my last dr. pepper.
The Abs Diet is a book, by the way.
I miss you way too much. But I just have to let you know that i'm going to win the Wii. The contest will suck for now but just remember it'll all be worth it come July and our CRUISE!
You crack me UP!!! Thank you... I needed a good laugh!! Thanks for helping me have a better day.
That drink sounds good, I'll have to try it! thanks for the info. Sorry about your week, sounds crazy busy! Good luk winning the Wii, those are so FUN!
Caryn that drink sound sooo good. I am going to have to get some. I bet Dusty would love it since he loves cranberry - go figure. I suppose you'll have to get your "year's supply" to satify your desires come July. After all they tell us to keep on supply what we'll actually eat or drink in this case. Love you and thanks for all the help on the pigeon.
You silly soda drinkers, I guess I can't appreciate the drink, but looking for something you've loved for forever, then finding it, is the BEST feeling ever! Goodluck with the weight loss challenge!
Hey Caryn, I love the blog! I love the "paper" or whatever you would call the background. I love the slide shows too. I need to figure out how to do that. I'll bookmark you so I can keep up...I love blogs!
Hi Caryn,
It's Maren Richter (Reese) I love your blog, you do such a great job talking about whatever you want, I love that! And I really love when I find another "Mrs Pepper" as my friends say. Good luck with the soda, I would rather give up my left foot!
Caryn, I was checking out blogs because I am trying to start one of my own. Anyway, I read your note on Your friends peppermint ice cream. Well, if you haven't found any, I carry it in my bakery at Al's. The only problem is I don't know how we would get it to AZ. Anyway, it is Russell's Brand.
Kelly Ann
That is too funny! Cant wait to try it! Hope your baby is better soon!
Hey--- Let Peppermint Ice Creamer now that it is now in stores.. Fry's at least. Hope you have a good weekend!!! Thanks again for everything
It really is the little things that make life worth it, isn't it? :) I'm regularly not a big fan of Sierra Mist, but maybe if the flavor is changed and I can't taste the core Sierra Mistness, I'll like it. Can't wait to try!
Caryn, you're right on the money with the peppermint ice cream. I saw some at the store the other day and tried so desperately to buy it, till Brent reminded me that it wasn't even Halloween yet, and reminded me that I still have weight to lose. Blast it. But it's true, you have to stock up! How on earth are we to make it through the year?? Blast seasonal stuff...
ok wait, you have a competition and the winner gets a wii? can i play? :)
I want in on the competition too :) You know what is funny? Dave and I never drink soda (well the occasional fresca here and there) but last night we were at a Halloween party and they had the Cranberry Sierra Mist there and I tried it! It was YUM-O! So I am on the train with ya!! Anyway, hope everyone gets better at your house. It is pretty poopie to have sick kiddos!
Yeah Steph! Its good right? And I have already gotten calls that the Peppermint ice cream is out in Fry's stores, and Safeway has Egg Nog for you wierdos who like that!!!
Thanks Caryn, we really enjoyed your commentory and all the pictures. They are adorable.
