After our long week, Rusty decided we should take a last minute trip to California. We hadn't been to the beach in a while and it would be Berk's first time. So Friday morning we loaded up the kids and headed to Newport Beach. We spent time there and at Laguna Beach and did a lot of shopping. It was a nice, relaxing time. Rusty's parents and brother were there for a wedding so we had extra help with the kids. Braden loves the beach, even when the water is cold and Berkley, well, Mr Berk loves the TASTE of the beach! Braden went into the water in his clothes and was mad when we made him get out of the surf and Berk was quite content eating fist fulls of sand and got very angry when we tried to make him stop. Braden learned the "joy" of feeding pigeons and Berk learned that walking in sand is tricky! We also headed down to San Clemente to the Rainbow Sandals store and stocked up-Braden got the cutest red ones! So, now we are back to reality and hot Fall weather. It was so nice to need sweatshirts at night! Thanks for the trip Rusty, I was just what I needed.

Love Rainbows! My brother in law works right next door to their store so he hooks us up all the time. I'm ready for some pink ones:)
I'm jealous. I have been wanting to go to the beach all summer. We just never got around to it.
How nice of Rusty. What I wouldn't give to take off for a weekend (given that I had even 10 extra hours in my life right now) to Cali and just hang out on the beach. Glad you got some time to relax! Cute pics, I want your long hair.
What a great weekend. Trips always seem to be hectic to me, but after a busy week, I'm sure the vacation was some much neeeded R & R! How fun!

Caryn, looks like tons of fun. So we live basically right next-door to the beach and I'm the worst, I never think of going there. Hey, I'm an Idaho girl at heart, I'm not used to California sand. Glad you took advantage of it. And like people have already said, I love your hair! I haven't really been able to tell from recent pictures what it looks like, but it looked great in those pics. I am wanting mine to grow, but it's driving me insane so I want to chop it. Ah well!
Looks like a great trip. It is the perfect time of year for a quick trip to California. I will have to look into Rainbow, never heard of it.
How fun is that!? We wanna do a beach trip so bad!!! I would love to wear a sweatshirt!! haha never gonna happen! So sad, I want fall here now! I keep hoping if I turn all of my clients hair darker and give them a fall look it will happen. No such luck!!

What a fun trip, California sounds perfect right now. It is 50 degrees here and Saturday it's only going to be 43 degrees. What happened to Fall? Your slide show is great, and I'm glad you had a nice time.
So..I just saw the post about Braden's Fish... Crazy!! You are such a great mom to go and buy another tank. Good luck with all those fish!
