Misc November...

As I am frantically trying to catch up the blog I came across a series of pictures and realized I need to make sure I put them in. So here is a random collection of our November.
Berkley finished his first season playing with Arsenal, he and Max Robison were both on team Swansea. He learned a lot this season, can't wait to see how his talent for soccer develops.
Of course, getting a medal at the end of the season made all the hard work payoff.
We also tried to warm Boston up to baths by giving him an impromptu sink bath.  It worked, he loved it and he finally warmed up to the idea of taking baths with his brothers!

Loving the head massage from his Dad!
Each month Berkley gets a project from school, this month it was to disguise a turkey. I looked on trusty Pinterest and saw a grainy idea for a peacock. This is what Berk and I came up with.  We liked it so much we did Braden's the same way a week later.
Rusty ran in a Half Marathon for Shun the Sun. He did a great job, and it is just the beginning of race season for him.
Ami and I were faithful Baseball Mom's this season, From scorching heat to freezing cold, fall in AZ can be curious!  The late games were a challenge since they started at 7:45 so Rusty and I had to alternate who went to which game, since the other kids were in bed.
Braden finished his Fall Ball season with some nail biting games. I wasn't sure my heart could take many more games like the last 3 of the season! They made it into playoffs and were one game from winning, but lost in a tight game.
Stratton and Braden have been playing baseball together since age 7, they have come a LONG way.

The coach we had was great. Very positive. At the end of the season he gave each player a "game ball" and told a little about how they had improved. Braden has become an avid base runner, he can steal a base before I can even blink! He is much more comfortable in the outfield, but held his own at 3rd for a lot of the season.

Thanksgiving 2012...

In the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving both my family and his had asked Rusty to make a turkey in his Big Green Egg, and I floated the idea of cutting the workload in half and having both the Rasmussen and Beck clans eat all together this year.  It worked well for us and I hope we can do it again in the future!
The kids play while the adults converse.
 Nolan keeping Brenner entertained...
And Gabrielle took Boston for a while.
He enjoyed his First Thanksgiving where he could eat the food!

Halloween 2012...

Before we get to All Hallow's Eve I have just a few pictures of the annual Mortensen Family Halloween Party.  We come, we eat, we play games, we walk in a costume parade and we leave.
Batman in one of his only happy moments. He was quite the booger that night.
The cute couple, this was Jared's first time at the party.

Boston and Waldo.  No one could find Pops all night.

This is the group of kids before the parade.  I swear there are about 300 of us there each year.

And on to Halloween
We let the big boys go around with a group of neighbor kids and my neighbor Mendy.
Braden's chest had LED pinpoint lights and it looked awesome, although you can't see it in any picture. Bummer.
Boston, the monkey butt, was just excited to be outside again!
The most exciting part of the night was when the Robison family ---I mean, the Avengers came over for a joining of the good guys.
Kelcie and her cowboy Jared came over and took Brenner trick or treating up the street.  We went a few houses and he was almost done.  We convinced him to take the stroller to Uncle Todd's house.  When we got there Alison answered the door and instead of Trick or Treat, Brenner said, "Do you have a popsicle?" Which she did, and he rode the rest of the way home happy!
 Kelcie and Rusty, lookin' good.
 Laziest trick or treater ever.
He got no where near the haul the two older boys did, but he was quite content. I was just happy that I could finally wash the costumes!

Trunk or Treat...

I think it is fun to see the people we normally only see in their "Sunday Best" at the ward Halloween party.  There were some great costumes this year. This is actually the first year our ward has had a party, since it is so new. We did it in the park up the street from us. So we were able to walk there and back when the kids were done.  This is was the first time we were all decked out in our family theme, which was, The Justice League.
Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, Green Lantern, Superman, and Batman.
The Flash was so fast that we had to restrain him in the stroller.

We added La La Loopsy to the League on a temporary basis...
Boston was perfectly content to sit and eat anything his brothers gave him, including lots and lots of doughnuts.
Here is the "trunk" part of the evening. Really it was a loooooong line of lawn chairs that stretched the length of the park. Brenner was fine to help pass out the candy after about 4 people.  Boston just wanted to know where his next treat was. It was a fun night, good weather and fun games and lots of laughing.
As I play catch up, posts will appear in chronological order so, scroll down because there is sure to be a new post below...
