Boston's First Tooth!!!

8.1.12
My baby finally did it.  He FINALLY cut his first tooth after months of agony.  Of course, I eased the pain best I could with teething tablets and popsicles, but really he takes all the credit.  Now it's time for the rest of those little suckers to come out.  He will probably be like Braden and get a mouth full all at once.  We can hope at least!
(pardon the blurry iPhone picture.)
And now that it's be a couple days it really shows! Lower Left.

Summer Reading...

I finally broke my Kindle! I think I literally read it to the brink of death in technology.  For our Anniversary Rusty replaced it with a Kindle Fire, and I haven't wasted anytime reading up a storm on it too.  I realized I haven't done a book list on here in ages, so here ya go! I actually went back to February of this year.  Which is when Boss finally allowed me sometime to read.
I am absolutely in love with the Matched and Divergent series.  The third Matched book comes out later this year and I can NOT wait. and Divergent is going to be the new Hunger Games, mark my words. I also devoured the Graceling series, including Fire and Bitterblue. I discovered a new author I love and this month I have read 5 books by her. Check out anything by Shannon Hale. Most of these are YA but that makes them quick reads and that's what I need.  The Princess Academy, also by Shannon Hale, was a great read, and it's sequel comes out this month and I am excited for it!

Some Favorite Instagrams...

Since not everyone sees my Instagram account I thought I should put some of my favorite, although random, photos from the last few months on the blog with their captions.
 My swimming darlings.
Someone went to Target with his Noni
This kid making a break for it after he took off his diaper and headed straight for the stairs!
This is what happens when a PCP, Personal Trainer and a dietician get together.
Thanks for the new 'do Rhonda, and thanks for not rolling your eyes every time I change my mind...
I like this whole "eating real people food" at Red Robin
Oh snap! Boss you're as fast on the stairs as you are on flat ground!
Brenner is not a fan of the Chic-fil-A cow...
Bunco! Always a fun night. I don't know if I laugh more there or on the car ride home.
These two have a perfect system. One eats the filling and the other eats the cookie.

First Day of School!!!

This summer went by quickly.  It seemed like I was in a constant state of packing and unpacking. Or playing referee. The boys grew restless and I could tell they were ready for some time away from each other, and me too. Berkley and Braden are both going to Highland Park this year.  It is so fun and different to have two boys in school.  Twice the supply list, twice the back to school clothes and twice the anticipation! We saw the teacher list the Saturday before school started and we were excited to see that Braden had friends in his class. Berkley didn't have the same luxury, but I don't worry about that kid making friends.  He and his cousin Jaci are next door to each other and that is a comfort for them.  Monday night we went to Meet the Teacher. It was crazy and busy.
The night before school we did Father's blessings and then headed to Cold Stone for a treat.
Our big 4th Grader going to Mrs. Matthew's class
Our late bell rings before 8am, thus the tired eyes...
And our Kindergartner! (Doing the sign for K). Excited about his teacher Mrs. Hickey
He was ready to go at 7:15 and could not wait to get out the door!
They both got new backpacks.  The backpack Braden got in Kindergarten finally broke the week school got out.  He insisted on having a larger size than that one so it would hold all his 'stuff.' I had to take this picture because it's fun to see them grow into them!
And even tho it was only 7:30am it was blazing hot.  We are in the middle of a heat wave here. The kids can't even play outside for recess, yes, it's THAT HOT!
Jill and Jaci drove over to go all together, so we loaded everyone up and headed to the school.  We dropped Braden off first. He is basically on the complete opposite side of the school of Berk.  I tried to take a picture after he put his backpack in line but he was off playing with friends before I could get the lens cap off!

Walking to the Kinder gate.  Parents aren't allowed, so it was sorta nice to watch from the fence as they learned this new routine.
 Off they went, brave kids!
And after they put their backpacks in line they went to explore for a minute.
Jaci got a little teary, but hug from her mom fixed her up.
After the bell rang, the kids lined up and went in.  Jaci could' find her backpack and got flustered but her teacher found her and they were off!

After school we waited, melting to pick the kids up. Berk had their 'Welcome to Kindergarten' sticker and when I asked him to show it to me he did this... I love this blue eyed, freckled nosed boy.

It's pretty fun having these two rascals at home all day, but Brenner starts preschool in September so then I'll just get to love on Boston! Aside from being super hot, the boys had a great first day! Here's to a successful 2012-13 school year!

Baby Vision...

We got a fancy new camera for the nursery this time around.  I can look at it on the computer, or my iPhone.  It's pretty handy to see and hear him whenever I want from wherever I want.  When he was little we never had to worry about him getting at the camera, but as he started cruising and pulling himself up we started getting blurry pictures, or pictures of the carpet.  Finally these week I moved it across the room.  He misses his plaything I gather.
It's a little freaky to turn this on in the night and see these raccoon eyes.
But I do love hearing him chatting away at nothing.
 The new view...
And if you look close you'll notice there is a frame missing
from the wall grouping, he can reach it and I got sick of hearing a crash in the night as he pushed it down- so for a while it's just resting in the closet.
My, how technology has changed in 9 years.
I would have killed for something like this when Braden was a baby!

Boston and Beans (not baked)...

This kid loves real food.  He is a human garbage disposal. We have to vacuum or sweep a few times a day to keep the most random things out of his mouth.  We were eating one night and decided to try him on black beans.  This was the result.
As I play catch up, posts will appear in chronological order so, scroll down because there is sure to be a new post below...
