Of all the shows...

I am the first to admit I watch way too much tv. Back when I worked at the OB office, conversations about random topics would usually end in, "Caryn, how did you know that?" To which I generally replied, "I watch way too much tv." I love 'em all. Crime shows, medical shows, drama, comedy. I miss my old favorites like Friends and Gilmore Girls terribly. And as openings in my nightly viewing schedule increased, (and with the invention of DVR- and that stupid writer's strike) I found myself watching more and more cable series to fill the voids. No one is more surprised than I am, that my hands down favorite show these days is Dirty Jobs.
That Mike Rowe cracks me up. If you don't know the premise of the show, basically this guy and his crew go all over doing the grossest, yuckiest, dirtiest jobs for a day. From cleaning sewers to collecting poopy diapers, he does it all. So, if you are still looking for a good show on Mondays, the newest season just started tonight on Discovery Channel. I like this show because I can be laughing one minute and trying not to vomit in the next. I love the podcasts on i Tunes too, so funny. Thank goodness there isn't smell-a-vision, or there is NO WAY I could watch it. Check it out sometime, I know you'll laugh and you'll probably learn a things or two.

We LOVE that show! We recently dvr'd (is that a word? anyways) an episode where he went to a snake farm and had to move snakes from one cage to another & had to move alligators out of their pond to clean it. My kids LOVED it and he is funny enough that no matter what he is doing, it's worth watching. My all time favorite was a few seasons ago when he was with cockroach exterminators and he went to a trailor where there were literally cockroaches EVERYWHERE. You couldn't look at a single thing without 10 roaches being on it. That was the worst one I have seen and I think on the radio he said that was the show he rated as being his least favorite. Yeah for a new season!!

It is pathetic that we spend more time on Discovery Channel than any other? Dirty Jobs, Mythbusters, How its made, etc. The boys and I are rubbing off on you! Just watch your going to be asking to watch Basketball soon(an the suite at the game doesnt count as watching basketball so you havent asked that yet!)

I've enjoyed a few episodes of Dirty Jobs. I need to send him some ideas. If people only knew how some of their drugs were made. Like Armour Thyroid. It all starts with a vat of rotting pig guts that was shipped unrefrigerated.

That show is fascinating. You can be flipping through the channels and just have to stop and watch. I am here to tell you though, it is not a smart idea during your first trimester;)

Too funny Caryn...you mentioned Friends and Gilmore Girls...you left out your previous love of Dawson's Creek.

I've watched it a few times as well and it's pretty interesting, that's for sure. He's a fun host, but I'm glad it's his job, not mine. I do plenty of "dirty jobs" on my own, I don't need to go out and do everyone else's just to try it out! Is it really your favorite though?? You know, The Office just started up again and Grey's Anatomy starts next week! Yeah for Thursdays!

I haven't seen this show but thanks for the heads up. I love to find that I am not the only TVaholic out there. DVR is my new best friend and after being out or town for a week I was so excited to come home and watch all my shows.
