(please note the long drool string- he just cut 2 molars and another tooth on the bottom, you know, for good measure...)We had a pretty mellow weekend around here and I was super glad. Sometimes I wonder about the world of boys I live in. My boys are
boy boys, dirt, bikes, quads and
all things dirty. They are rowdy and rough with each other, a trend I dare say will only get worse as they get older. It has been interesting to see Berkley and how he is coming into his own and defending himself more. He is finally starting to talk. Braden was a big talker by this age and Berk has his words, but is possessive of them. He says "this" and "that" and is pointing with one finger and that gets him where he needs to go. He has started this "No" gesture that is a little brattier than a regular head nod, you also get a shoulder shrug and a look too. Gotta love it. He loves to be outside ("
oow-side") and loves to swing, but he is really happiest when he is watching, more marveling really, at his big brother riding his bike, quad or motor-scooter. It's hilarious to watch. He is mesmerized... He wants to touch the wheels, and stands right in the way when Braden is coming or going. Thankfully, Braden generally, will avoid him and keep going. My biggest gripe with him right now is his grunting to indicate what he wants instead of calling it by name, which he knows, but won't use generally. Any tips? I am trying to avoid giving him anything unless he says please "pees" or ask for it by name, which is why he learned a new word this weekend..."
nem nems" (M&M's)... my house is a chocolaty mess.
We had a fun family lunch date at
CPK which was both yummy and fun. The boys are at a great age and will actually behave pretty well in
restaurants . As long as they have something to eat they are
GooD!
SHOCK!Rusty got his 'Braden time' in on Saturday with his Uncle Todd, brother Ryan, two cousins Cass &
Maryn and his grandpa
Bopy, when they all headed to the
Motorcross, that was in town this weekend.
In the Pit before the main event
The view from their seats, Braden is wearing his Quad riding shirt (he wanted me to let ya'll know) He really liked the races and thought it was pretty cool to see "little big kids" (8 yr olds) racing. The night was tarnished only because he dropped his new camera from Christmas into the section below him and it is lost and gone forever... He is still grieving it. Poor kid, it's like he doesn't have 50 other things to play with. But bless his heart.
The only other eventful thing to report is Berkley's first big fall. Not off his trike, or the tramp or out of the car. Nothing as exciting, he just fell walking, and went literally, FLAT on his Face... the bruise on his nose is proof. My only question is, Can a 1 yr old break their nose? Cause if so, this looks iffy.

I feel his pain about the camera. Please, someone get the boy a new camera! :)
Ouch, that looks like it hurts.
About your last post, as much as I dislike school, I sometimes feel like my brain is slowly disapearing (case-in-point, I had to type that last word about ten times before I was satisfied I had it right!) I guess I need to read more, because I want to be learing without having to enroll somewhere. Now if I can just find the time to read...
Sounds like a fun weekend. Poor Berk. Heather knows what it's like to break her nose. Give her a call. :) So did you get to do anything girly while the boys were being boyish?
Don't you love having boys?? I do. There is something about their messy hands, snotty noses being wiped on their shirts, the constant smell of dirt...you have to be the mother of a boy to understand and to appreciate it. Glad your boys had a fun supercross weekend too! One of these years we should all go together.
I seriously am scared of little boys. They are so cute but so wild and funny. You are brave woman surrounded by all these boys!
I hope I have boys someday! Everyone tells me they're so different from girls, so it does scare me a bit. But the picture of Braden by the dirtbikes is classic.
Forrest is a boy boy too, and I loved having my little girl, someone I felt like I connected with. But, it looks like I'll be having another boy and Forrest is excited as he will be able to play more rough with someone. Perhaps we should get your boys and Forrest together sometime:) Let them be boys!
Poor little bugger! Looks like that hurt! Yazee's always hitting her noggin! I think it's because she's a little bobble-head. Braden looked like he had tons-o-fun at Motor Cross! Love them boys!
Hi Caryn! You boys are adorable! It's good to see that you are doing well. Keep in touch!
Poor Berk, That bruise looks like it hurts. I'm glad you had a fun weekend. It's so funny because I only have little Addie so we can't really relate to the whole boy interest thing, but it sounds like fun and they keep you really busy. You are a great mom Caryn.
Shock! I'm leaving a comment. How'd you get that precious photo of Little Man's sore nose? I love the photo but not the bruise.
