We are saddened tonight at the loss of the President of our Church tonight, President Gordon B Hinkley. He was an amazing man, so inspired and faithful. We can only be comforted in the thought that he now reunited with his sweet wife Marjorie. I have such gratitude for how he lead our church and for his willingness to visit the members all over the world. It is hard to comprehend how at the completion of his 97 years he had traveled more than half a million miles and spoke to hundreds of thousands of members in more than 60 nations. The great works he has brought to us include the Proclamation to the Family, smaller Temples so more members could benefit from them, the Conference Center in SLC--just to name a few. I think the trait that endeared him most to me personally was his humor. He always had a way of making lite of something during even serious moments. We look forward to the April General Conference when we sustain the newest leader and Prophet of our Church.

Can you believe it? I honestly thought he'd live forever. At least, I'd hoped he would. Alas... I guess he really was only human. Nice tribute to him.
Met him first time in the LTM (language training mission - predicessor to the MTC) and have always loved hime since. I have tried to emulate his leadership style of reverance mixed with appropriate humor. I am happy for him. He had a life of hard work and dedication.
I loved his humor too, Caryn. And I agree with you completely-when I first heard tonight, I was so in shock, and my first thought was joy that he was with his wife again. We are all so blessed that we had him for so long.
he will be missed! We are so fortunate to have had him with us for so long! Fun to catch up on your blog!
Well put. He's so happy now and I'm sure is busy at work once again.
Good blog caryn. I was hoping when I looked today that you would have something. His smiling face could always make my day better.
I love all these tributes. It truly shows how much he was loved.
He was such a wonderful man and I also look forward to Conference and witnessing the mantle fall onto the shoulders of our next prophet.
