So this weekend we decided to get out of town, the Town of Gilbert that is, and so we headed to nearby Scottsdale. We got a room at the Desert Ridge Marriott for the weekend and had a great time. We relaxed, swam, swam, some more, relaxed in the lazy river, swam, ate...it really was so much fun! For those who don't live in grand ole AZ, the resorts here realize that in the summer no one sane wants to come stay at their place, so they offer these great rates to the locals, who are crazy enough. Ours included things like free in room movies, free room service, free drinks for Braden by the pool, ect... They really make it fun for the whole family though with live bands that play at night and great restaurants and tons of near by shopping. Braden's favorite part was the lazy river, but there were like five other pools we played in too. The landscape was breathtaking and you could almost imagine yourself somewhere cooler--almost because it was still 115 outside. Big yum yum for the breakfast buffet as well as the pizza we ordered from room service. All in all, we can't wait to go back. Here are a few pictures from our brief time there. I know we were sceptical of our friends who swear by going "out of town" in the valley, but they were right, it was a definite mini vacation!

So cute! It is worth it huh... Makes the summers less miserable when you can stop worrying about even the slightest thing as keeping the place you live in clean, and cooking! Yeah for resorts!
Looks like fun! I wish we had done that this weekend before I started school. Thanks for the idea! I'll have to do this some weekend soon.
Okay so I just realized that this hotel was the one that we went to graduation day after rehersal to swim and got kicked out of the first 5 minutes we were there. Super nice pool though wish I would have stopped by!
That looks like a lot of fun!! How did you make the collage? I hate when I want to put more than one picture, then that entry is like a mile long. That is a excellent idea.
Wow looks like alot of fun! We will have to try that!
Caryn,
I ran into your blog and thought I would say hi! Everytime I hear an Alanis Morrissette song I think of you, me, Deanna, and Meaghan hanging out at your pool. Yes, that was a looong time ago! Anyway, your family is cute! We just started a blog.

How fun! While we were in AZ we stayed at the Westin Keirland Resort and it was SO much fun. Although we aren't from AZ (well yes we are, and we will call it home again...but not right now < breath >)Anyway, it was fun to stay there to say the least! I love all the pics you took and am so glad you had a great week end! You deserve it!
What a fun little weekend getaway! It looks like you all had a blast. That is cool that they give special rates to the locals. I wish there was something like that here. I love the layout with all the pics! Your family is so cute!
Heu it's erica I found your blog thru Ami Bethea's. It was so good to run into you at swim lessons. I can't believe someone asked you if you were pregnant. When I saw you I thought how great you looked. This resort looks so fun, I think you had a great idea I just might have to go myself.
