So Berkley has been crawling for about a month and a half now and all of a sudden this week he has just taken off. You turn your back for one second and he is in another room! He has started independently walking to get places rather than just walking to someone and my least favorite advancement, the stairs. I would like to pause for a moment and thank the creator of the baby gate for allowing me to raise boys without additional concussions resulting from falls from the stairs. Berk has decided that since Braden can freely go up and down he should be able to as well. Up is not a problem, down however, well, down is a problem. He wants to WALK down. Not even crawl forward superman style. And no way he is gonna let me teach him how to back down. Nope, he has to be a big boy. Oh, I see urgent care in our future... Another fun thing for us is that he finally cut his top teeth, really just one but the other is SO close. After an ear infection, pink eye and a bout of the flu he should finally be feeling better...
Braden meanwhile, has grown sick of life without preschool. He and I both cannot wait for it to start. Luckily we only have a few more weeks. But to kill time we have been doing some 'spearamints'. Braden loves anything that you can add water to and make it grow. Earlier this summer I found these magic grow creatures at Michaels (for only $1.99)and they have given us endless hours of fun. Most of them start out the size of Braden's palm and grow to be, well, huge. Others start off as small as quarter and can grow to be 6 or more inches. My poor cleaning ladies nearly had a heart attack when we were growing the alligator and crab the first time, because they look and feel pretty real. That's the other good thing, you can take them out of water and they shrink and you start all over again. Oh, raising boys sure is fun, huh.

I can't wait to do all of that stuff with Peyton. I think having boys is so fun. You can get down and dirty. I love it. Not that the girlie stuff isn't sometime appealing also. I hope you don't mind that I staulk your blog. I am loving it but am having a hard time getting my girlfriends interested. How about Rhonda? She says she's too busy and I tell her you somehow always seem to make time.:) Maybe just start her one.
I was wondering how you had time for your heartbaby stuff.I want a cleaning lady so I can do that stuff too!
Ok is berkley walking before he cut his first. Or does he have his bottom. I think you have a baby genius on your hands.
be glad you don't have a small dog that can hide form view on the stairs. Draven has now fallen down both sets of stairs because Jessie was hiding on them. Not my favorite sound in the world, hearing the thump, thump, thump as he is falling. Good way to see how fast your heart can beat though.

Austin would love those starfish things! Can I get a cleaning lady for my apartment? My apartment is so small that if I need a cleaning lady for it I am really way too lazy!
I love having cleaners! They only come every two weeks, but they do all the hard cleaning I won't do as often like the oven and fridge, oh and the ceiling fans! So, yes Cara, they do save me time to work on my boutique! But with a toddler around I still have to do my floors daily!!!
i'm jealous you have a cleaning lady. and we'll have to find those add water things. those look like fun!
Caryn I so love raising boys too. BTW my boys love "soak and grow" anything. They teach good patience :)
Berkley is getting so big. I swear it wasn't too long ago I saw him and he was a little baby. Time flies...
I LOVE cleaning ladies. They are seriously the best gift anyone could give themselves. Think about it, as a mom would I rather be dusting fans and floor boards or playing games with your kids? I like the every 2 week thing too. The everyday jobs are easy & good to get the kids involved doing, but as for deep clean we LOVE to pass the buck to the cleaning lady :)
YOU HAVE A CLEANING LADY?!? What's wrong with my husband? Am I the only one left scrubbing the toilets (and oven and fridge for that matter) without pay?
I really am so jealous! A Christmas present--that's a good idea. And I can't believe I forgot to tell you I finished HP and loved it, of course. We'll have to talk!
