There is a new threat in the world of mall parking lots...yes, the so-called "Smart Cars." I have started seeing these around my neighborhood in the last 6 months or so. A red one and a black one must live near by, because I always see those too when I am out. Anywho- now to my rant...So the other day I am driving around in the mall parking lot, trying to find a space, late for a movie. I am driving up and down, and it was crazy busy for some reason. So I am about 7 rows down from where I would normally park and I see it---A SPOT! I start to pull in and I see it! Blasted Smart Car, pulled all the way forward in the spot so you can't see it as you drive by. Ergh! I back up and continue my search. Keep in mind I was in Rusty's sedan and not my SUV...It happens FOUR MORE TIMES! Where are all these dang cars coming from? What happened to the town of Gilbert being the land of the ridiculous amount of Tahoes and Minivans? Did I mention that is was about a million degrees outside (ok only 112, but still) and I am now so far from the movie theater that I am practically on the other side of the mall??? So obnoxious. I am not irked about their "green-ness" and I am sure they are practical, and I am told they are very safe, but dang, those little suckers play a mean trick on you in a parking lot.
I wish I had had the time to take a picture of the actual cars that bugged me, but this will work as an example...

When I first saw these I thought it was joke. I am with you...them in parking spots are annoying!
They look like toys. They are also very annoying and everywhere over here too. It is almost as annoying as thinking you've found a spot only to find a motorbike parked in it. Grrrr! Wait... your supposed to be on vacation!!! Hope your having a good time!
I have seen those lately too. Why would someone want to drive one of those tiny things? They probably about get ran over every time they are on the road.
How funny you should comment on that, I had an experience very simalar not to long ago, urggg is right only because we are in the yuckiest season of the year:)
I hate it when little cars trick you in the parking lot! That is when you need to just stalk people who are walking back to their cars (a little trick I learned during my time at UVSC).
My kids call those kid's cars! I think it is funny! I love all of your bloggr tricks btw. I will totally take advantage!
I haven't really seen those here in Vernal, yet. Maybe I just haven't noticed. I am looking forward to trying some of your blogging helps . . .
I saw one of those cars in SLC a couple of weeks ago. Definietly different!!
K, so, you're blogging from I can only guess somewhere in the Italy, Spain, on the cruise ship? And this is what you are giving those of us who are DYING to know how it was?!!! I actually first saw the smart car in Kuwait, almost 5 years ago. I think they are so cute and wanted Been to get me one. Can't you just hear it's little horn sounding like a high pitched & timid "meep meep"? Kills me! Actually, in Europe they come in quite handy. The parking spaces are RIDICULOUS and the roads are pretty narrow. Thank goodness that we are so lucky to have huge streets and big parking lots!
I'm laughing as I write... Had no idea those "Smart cars" (I call them "dumb cars") bugged so many of us! I am worried about someone running over them with a "real" car. Think I'll move to Vernal... but wait, sooner or later, they'll be there, too!
