Thanksgiving was fun. This year we actually had the Rasmussen family dinner at my house for the first time! It was fun, my mom did all the prep for the turkey and sides ect and all I had to do was the rolls... so of course, I pulled out the Rhodes bake and serve rolls. 6 dozen of 'em, really, was I gonna kneed the dough? No. And I have to tell ya, for the first time ever, the Rhodes Rolls let me down. I don't know what happened but they NEVER rose, egh! Looks like I am gonna be in charge of the ice for next year. I enjoy cooking, but it is something I have really just started to do and I quickly realized that I am no Martha Stewart. First, I didn't have any cornstarch to make the gravy, then I didn't have a potato masher (hello, potato pearls anyone???) and finally, as if the cornstarch fiasco wasn't enough, I don't own a gravy boat. So, note to self, I have a few items to pick up at Target before the next Rasmussen Thanksgiving since they voted, and it is at my house again. Gee, thanks guys.
As soon as we ate a little pie and washed a TON of dishes, we put the boys in the car and headed up to Pine to our cabin. It was so nice to actually get chilly as we got out of the car. I was soon regretting my new found love for the cold about 3am, when the temperature in our room plummeted below zero, I swear (ok, more like the 40's). Memo to us for next month, there is a floor heater in that room... Friday we ate another Turkey dinner this time with the Beck/Solomon gang. We had to make a trip down to Payson to get some medicine for my poor Berk who has a bug, and got to see the crazies all come out at Walmart! Good thing I didn't need much, that place was CrAzY! Braden got to spend the afternoon 'helping' clear the pine needles and shooting bow & arrows. Berk got to spend it sleeping on his Pops, and playing with Kelcie and Ryan. He has perfected the art of the sweet talk, and no one could resist giving him, well, anything he wanted! Friday night, we were a little warmer, thanks to the above mentioned heater and a few more blankets, despite the howling wind which dropped the outside temps below freezing! Braden cracked us up when in the middle of the night he rolled off his bed and in a super sleepy voice said, "That can't be good!"

Saturday we headed back to the valley to get the tree up and the lights out. And I got to go to a fun girls lunch with the girls I played with in high school. Kendee & Beth we missed you!
Most of the girls from out of state were home for the holiday and we couldn't pass up the chance to get together! Alison, Steph, Jami, Brooke, Shanon (and sweet Lily), Amy, Brooke and Jeannie and I all headed out to BJ's for lunch. We had a great time, good food and a lot of laughs. Our poor waiter heard more than his share of girl talk...we probably scarred him for life ladies! Some of them I see from time to time, but a couple I don't get to see very often and we are gonna change that! Bloggin' doesn't count as quality time-IMO. You girls are still as fun as you were back when we had the energy to do crazy dances at Cooley Park, and I remembered why I loved hanging out with you all- my cheeks hurt from laughing! And the Pizookie was as good as I told ya, huh. Hope all you out of state'rs travel home safe!

Ok so for reals Caryn I am mad at you :) I am now addicted to no other than...........................
sierra mist cranberry splash! Um thought I should try it cuz you said it was good. HELLO sooo good.
You're "no Martha Stewart"!? Can I say, a big, fat WHATEVER! Thanks for having dinner at your house! It looked beautiful and the food was tooo YUMMY! Especially the pumpkin bread! (Oh wait, I made that!) Heehee. If you don't feel like having the next one at your house, I'll volunteer mine. (That is if Braden's gotten over his fear of my pugs.) Looks like you had a fun weekend!
It was such a fun lunch, wasn't it! The time just flew. I am glad you had a good thanksgiving with your fam - and just so you don't feel too bad, I don't own a gravy boat either!
Sad about your 6 dozen rolls, but besides that...it sounds like you had a great Thanksgiving. I love your new banner, it is so cute. Also, can I just say you look beautiful in that picture with your friends.
I'm so glad your Thanksgiving was great. I'm sorry but I can't stop laughing (outloud mind you) over your comment on my blog about Rusty having to ban you from late night Webkinz tournaments!
Everyone loves Rhodes rolls and mine have never turned out. They end up not rising and are little hard hockey pucks. Glad you had fun with the Mt. View girls. I haven't seen them in so long. You are so brave to have Thanksgiving at your house.
Ha! I love that you had a cornstarch fiasco! Can I come to your Thanksgiving next year? I don't like gravy anyway...
Everyone looks great! Sad I missed it.
No gravy boat either...big step having the feast at our house! We are getting old:)
You crack me up! Sorry the rolls didn't work out. It was fun seeing you Saturday and very cute Christmas card!
That picture of Berkley asleep on Russ is so sweet! I love how Grandpa's just melt over the Grandkids. What a fun weekend!
Gotta tell you. I was in charge of the rolls too. But, when we arrived in St. George, I went to Harmons and headed straight for the bakery. Very nice rolls all done and all I had to do was put them in foil and warm them up. Can't go wrong there. (Unless you forget them in the oven!!!)
You know you had way too much fun with me down there and you would love to give me back my job as a nanny! I knew I missed you guys but I didn't know that I missed you THAT MUCH until I got down there! Lets just say it was heart breaking when I realized I wasn't going to see the boys for a few more weeks of my life! Good thing we are the best walkers but we just need to remember to get heelies (got the idea from Braden or something to make the walk to Tom's a little less tiring so we're not so winded after, wouldn't you say??
Caryn! You are never going to believe who this is...Jenny Frenette, well Heikkila now. I went to LDS Business College with you and Lainee, remember? If you need a refresher, go to my blog,

Well, I am a member of cafemom.com, and I am friends with peytonsmommy (lindsey brown) she just sent me her link for her blog and I was looking on her friends list, and there was your name! I was like, no way! Cuz I knew lindsey lived in arizona and so did you, so I hoped it was you. Anyways, I was just so excited! I can't believe you have two boys! That is so fun! They are so cute! I also have 2 kids, a girl and a boy! Crazy though, we should catch up! Way cute blog!
Jenny

SMALL WORLD HUH? FUNNY!! I LOVE HOW DETAILED ALL OF YOUR BLOGS ARE. AND YES YOU ARE MARTHA!!!
Sounds like it was great, or you wouldn't be hosting next year again:) I loved the Christmas card too, you are so on time of things! I am jealous...who know when we will get a decent picture? But question...what brand is Rusty's razor? I need more details:) Thanks!
