I was sitting here thinking about the good ole days when Brenner didn't crawl yet. Ya know last week? Those good ole days... Today as I was remembering how nice it was to unload the dishwasher without help. Or how folding the laundry was more folding than throwing.
But no, those days are gone. He went from pulling up, to cruising the couch, to crawling at the speed of sound-- all in a week. Man. And don't forget those two new teeth he got.
And those glorious days of not needing those pesky child locks on every drawer and cupboard? Yup. I enjoyed almost 3 lovely years without them in between Braden and Berkley. And nearly two more years of not breaking my nails or having to open them for the other kids...
Until today. He opens every one of the kitchen drawers and cupboards whose locks are broken or removed. It's like a crawler's sixth sense. How does he know which ones he can get into??? I sent Rusty out for new child locks--and it will be a long week until he has time to put them in. While I was putting my contacts in this morning he found the one cupboard in our room with a missing lock and pulled a bottle of mouth wash out and on himself. On the plus side 1. At least he didn't drink it. 2. My feet -and his- smelled minty fresh, not to mention the rug and my flip flops. 3. Nothing else in that cupboard was open (and the leaver open of Scope has been chastised I assure you- as well as having the lock installation moved to the top of his Honey Do list).
Also today, I broke down and dug out the baby gates. We have two sets, presumably one for the top of the stairs and one for the bottom. But with B1 and B2 unable to either open them or climb them I hesitate to use them. But I would really rather B3 NOT climb the stairs or fall down them...So gates it is. I am sure I can find lower barriers to use so they boys still have acess to the rest of the house, but that takes effort, and my effort is in chasing after a sneaky crawler who gets silent as a mouse when he's into something...
Three kids is rough, thanks for the heads up.
At least we have the pool already for a distraction... And YEAH for Summer time buzz cuts! My favorite hair cut of the year!

Thanks for reminding me that I have a lot of cabinets that need new child locks. Rylie broke them the first time around with almost no effort at all. I'd forgotten the whole cabinet opening stage.
Good luck this week! Hope Rusty finds some extra time to get the locks on.
i totally know how you feel about the crawling. its crazy how fast it all happens. the pictures sure are cute!
Oh, but he's so dang cute! Thanks for the reminder of what is in my near future.
When did he get old enough to get into things??? Wow! He is very cute, though . . . :)
You all are way too cute!! I love it!!
Aw kids. :) This will be my first baby in a house with stairs... not sure how that will be! But seriously, wasn't he just born???
Why do they always find the couple of unlock cabinets? We have the magnet locks they are awesome, no pinched fingers. Just get 2 magnets just in case! We are in that phase also, he is really into reaching into drawers right now, hence everything in our bathroom drawers is on top of the counter and it drives me crazy. I need to figure out a solution for that one. He will be keeping up with his big brothers soon.

People think I am crazy but I love, love, love the day that my babies start crawling and walking. YOur little brenner is so cute!
Awww... he's grown up too much in the time I've been gone! Sad! Love the pic of him gnawing on the gate. Maybe he'll chew his way through?
